Co-founded by Troy Hickerson, now of Forward Movement,

In 2013, Mark Moore and Troy Hickerson had an idea to convert every calorie burned into live-saving food for malnourished children. This concept led to a couple of initiatives including Active For Good and UNICEF Kid Power.

In 2015, the first model UNICEF Kid Power band was introduced with a launch at Target stores and with the support of Star Wars. We were fortunately enough to get some incredible support from P!nk, Jimmy Fallon and the Good Morning America. The program grew as both an elementary school program and a platform families to Get Active, and Save Lives.

Co-creator Troy Hickerson took the lead on the wearable technology working with Ammunition Group and an overseas manufacturing partner. The program grew to support over 500,000 students primarily in 3rd – 6th grade.

In 2016, the second generation Kid Power Band was released throughout Target stores and also configured into Classroom Kits available on Donor’s Choose.

This project has been absolutely incredible and I am so honored to have played a part. The kids are the heroes of this story. I am blown away by the empathy, connection and all-out energy they give to helping other kids around the world.

This post is a place to remember to tell the story of a crazy startup out to bend the arc of the future toward good. Well done team.
